Education/Community Engagement
Purpose: To increase awareness and knowledge among community members regarding lead poisoning beginning with primary prevention for lead-safe environments for children. The committee will work collaboratively to prevent children from ever being exposed. Our plan is to empower others in our community to keep children lead-safe.

Government and Policy
Purpose: To ensure effective implementation and enforcement of the lead ordinance, including monitoring registration and compliance, enforcement of violations, and support for tenant protections.

Workforce Development
Purpose: Partnership with the City, Ohio Means Jobs, local inspectors, small business program administrators, and Toledo Rotary to provide training and other support for inspectors and contractors doing lead work.

Lead-Safe Summit
Purpose: Plan and organize an annual event convening stakeholders to share resources and keep the community updated on efforts to improve access to lead-safe housing.

Department of Housing and Community Development
The Department of Housing and Community Development provides and assists with the development of quality affordable housing, including collaboration with community partners to support quality of life initiatives and programs. We strive for code compliance on properties in our community and work to eliminate blight affecting our neighborhoods.
The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is committed to being the leader in public health by promoting and protecting the health of all people where they live, learn, work, and play.
