If you have received a Notice of Disqualification from the City of Toledo, and you do not believe you are in violation, you may submit an appeal to the Department of Building and Code Compliance.

When you file an appeal, the Nuisance Abatement Appeals Board with Toledo Housing Court will review the circumstances of your case and determine whether or not the violation is present.

Please note: Filing an appeal does not stop the order. You will not be able to issue any Lead Safe Certificates while your case is reviewed.

How to File an Appeal

1. 10 Day Deadline

You must file your appeal with the form below within 10 days of receiving the notice. If you miss the deadline and still want to appeal the decision, you will have to file an injunction or civil suit against the City of Toledo.

2. File the Form and Pay the Fee

3. Attend the Hearing

Once your appeal is filed, you will receive a hearing date. At the nearing, the Nuisance Abatement Appeals Board will review your case and make a decision.
